Twenty years ago I was a professional Interior Designer in Portland, Oregon. After visiting a small island in the San Juans (north of Seattle), I took a sabbatical from my job to live there for the summer - and I haven't gone back.
My partner and I built our own home and art studios. We work as a gardener and carpenter, paint and make fiber art.
